1. Start with one folder that matters
A folder sync setup has two sides: a local folder on your Android device and a destination folder in Google Drive. With SagoSync, you create a pair between the Android folder you choose and any existing or newly created folder you explicitly choose in My Drive.
Start with a folder whose files have a predictable purpose—such as a recording, downloads, camera, or work-output folder. A focused pair makes it easier to review what is being copied and prevents unrelated files from becoming part of the workflow.
2. Choose a direction before you turn on a schedule
“Sync” can mean different things. SagoSync lets you decide the direction for each folder pair.
- Upload: copy files from Android to Google Drive and keep the phone original.
- Download: copy files from the Drive folder you selected to Android and keep the Drive original.
- Two-way: keep the Drive folder you selected and the local folder aligned. It does not propagate deletions.
- Upload then delete / download then delete: move instead of merely copy. The original is removed only after the new copy is verified.
3. Understand what the app can—and cannot—see in Drive
SagoSync requests Google Drive permission so you can browse My Drive and explicitly choose an existing destination folder. The app uses that permission only on your device to browse for the selection and synchronize inside the selected folder; it does not send Drive files, names, paths, or listings to SagoSync servers.
The file bytes travel directly between your device and Google Drive. SagoSync does not use a file relay or keep a cloud copy of your files, file names, folder paths, or Drive file list.
4. Pick a cadence that fits the folder
You can run a sync manually or let SagoSync schedule it. The free plan supports one folder pair with a minimum 15-minute schedule. Pro removes the folder-pair and upload-speed limits, and can start a sync when a watched folder changes.
A schedule is most useful for folders with a consistent flow. For a folder that changes occasionally, manual sync may be enough. For time-sensitive files, Pro’s watched-folder mode is designed to respond soon after a change.
5. Review privacy and safety before connecting
Folder synchronization needs Android file access because the app must read and write the folders you select. SagoSync uses that access only for the folder pairs you configure. You can also disconnect Google Drive at any time from your Google Account permissions.
